Being in the public eye certainly has its perks, but the lifestyle of the rich and famous comes with a whole lot of drama too, only their drama is usually displayed for the world to see. Here are the celeb feuds we're still not over.
Cole Carrigan vs Jake Paul
At the start of their careers, Cole Carrigan and Jake Paul were quite close. However, as their influence grew, their friendship deteriorated. After Carrigan left Team 10, Paul's content house, and shared his less-than-enjoyable experience there, Jake was left disappointed.
"The environment was very toxic. No one cared about each other. No one supported each other," Cole confessed of his time collaborating with Jake's crew. This started a public feud between the YouTubers that became so cold that Paul uninvited Carrigan from his birthday party.
Megan Thee Stallion vs Tory Lanez
After attending a party together in July 2020, rapper Megan Thee Stallion revealed that Tory Lanez allegedly shot her in the foot. Tory vehemently denied the allegations and even released a track titled Money Over Fallout shortly after the incident about his side of the story.
"People tryna frame me... Girl, you had the nerve to write that statement on the affidavit, knowing I ain't do it," the rapper sang on the song. However, a judge recently ruled in favor of Megan charging Lanez with assault. The rapper returns to court on Jan 13 where, if convicted, he could face up to 22 years in jail.
Taylor Swift vs Katy Perry
They're two of the biggest pop stars in the world and, despite being friends at one point, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift's relationship soured quickly. After Katy hired multiple backup dancers from Taylor's world tour for her own, they left the tour early and Taylor didn't appreciate the gesture.
The feud inspired Swift's smash hit Bad Blood which she said was about a female pop star who did something "so horrible" that they're now "straight-up enemies." Katy rebutted with her single Swish Swish before finally apologizing to the star. Now, they look back at the feud and laugh.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson vs Vin Diesel
The Fast & Furious franchise is one of the biggest in cinematic history, but despite being teammates in the films, creative differences between Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson created a hostile environment on set. So much for family love, right?
Diesel believed that he put in the hard work building up the franchise to where it is today, while Johnson just swooped in and took credit for making it a global success. However, Diesel is ready to bury the hatchet after asking "The Rock" to come back for the 10th film in the franchise in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Nicki Minaj vs Miley Cyrus
In a clip that has since gone viral, rapper Nicki Minaj called out MTV VMA host Miley Cyrus at the 2015 ceremony after winning the Best Hip-Hop Video award. In an interview before the big night, Miley called out Minaj's Anaconda video for celebrating "slim bodies," which didn't sit well with the pop star.
During her winning speech, Nicki called Cyrus out saying, "Back to this b***h that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press; Miley, what's good?" The two seemed to have sorted out their differences but Miley revisited the feud in her song Cattitude with the lyrics: "I love you, Nicki, but I listen to Cardi." Yikes!
Ariana Grande vs James Charles
They say when you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all – especially on a public platform. However, makeup guru James Charles maintained the opposite after posting a video where he shared his not-so-friendly opinion of pop star Ariana Grande.
In the clip, Charles called Grande the "rudest celebrity" he's met. So, Ariana unfollowed the star on social media, and when he reached out to ask why, Grande said "I saw a lot of angry tweets from my fans... so I unfollowed." Charles has since apologized to the singer, but we have a feeling they're not BFF-status.
Drake vs Kanye West
With two of the biggest albums of 2021 so it's not surprising that Kanye West and Drake had a rivalry going on. However, their beef started way back in 2018 when the duo dropped diss track after diss track about each other – with Kanye even revealing that Drake was a dad before it was publicly known.
Social media became another outlet for the duo to slam each other – especially after Kanye found out that Drake was following his wife Kim Kardashian on Instagram. Luckily, the two seem to have set aside their differences and even united for a benefit concert in December 2021. Let's hope they keep things amicable from now on.
Rihanna vs Ciara
You can't diss one of the biggest musicians in the world and think you're going to get away with it, right? Ciara learned this the hard way after revealing Rihanna was rude to her during a recent appearance. "I ran into her recently at a party. She wasn't the nicest... It wasn't the most pleasant run-in," she told E!.
Rihanna took to Twitter to respond to the Goodies singer. "My bad Ci, did I forget to tip you? #howrudeofme," read the tweet. "Trust me, Rihanna, you don't want to see me on or off the stage," Ciara responded, to which Rihanna told her, "Good luck booking that stage you speak of." Ouch!
Lady Gaga vs Madonna
Throughout her career, no one came close to snatching Madonna's queen of pop crown quite like Lady Gaga – which clearly left the singer threatened. When fans thought Gaga's Born This Way reminded them of Madonna's Express Yourself, the singer said "I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was... interesting."
However, Lady Gaga was not going to let Madonna shade her that easily. "It's the same one that's been in disco music for the last 50 years." She continued, "Just because I'm the first f***ing artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn't mean I'm a plagiarist; it means that I'm f***ing smart. Sorry."
Drake vs Meek Mill
Kanye West wasn't the first public feud Drake had, and it might not even be his last. The vocal rapper found himself embroiled in a battle with Meek Mill after he tweeted, "Stop comparing Drake to me too... He don't write his own raps! That's why he ain't tweet my album because we found out!"
Meek added "He ain't even write that verse on my album. And if I woulda knew I woulda took it off my album..... I don't trick my fans!" The tweets resulted in many diss tracks, with Drake dropping Charged Up and Meek clapping back with Wanna Know. At least we got some good music out of it all!
Lana Del Rey vs Azealia Banks
Azealia Banks has rubbed some people up the wrong way, but it's her feud with Lana Del Rey that really got people talking. It all started when Lana openly commented about Kanye's political views. "Wow, okay, Lana, this would be cute if you were consistent with your outrage and refused to collab with ASAP Rocky," she tweeted.
The rapper continued calling Lana out for using Kanye to appear politically informed. After a series of tweets, Lana had enough. "Banks. U coulda been the greatest female rapper alive, but u blew it. don't take it out on the only person who had ur back," she responded. Seems like there is so much more to uncover here!
50 Cent vs French Montana
Sometimes, it's best to avoid speaking about colleagues on social media. French Montana found this out the hard way after talking about 50 Cent. "You should avoid beef if you trying to make money. They [used to] do that with 50 because 50 was on the bank. They knew he was going to win," he said.
Naturally, 50 Cent was going to stand up for himself. "French Montana, you ain’t s**t boy. You out your league talking about me," he said. 50 and his fans called Montana out for lying about his Spotify streaming records in January 2020 and the duo continued to be at each other's throats. This is a feud we don't see ending soon.
Tupac vs Notorious B.I.G.
They have been called some of the best rappers to have ever lived, but Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.'s feud lasted until they both passed. Their record labels, Bad Boy Records and Death Row Records started the infamous East Coast/West Coast feud which eventually saw both rappers victims of drive-by shootings.
While the two rappers started off as friends in the industry, Tupac was shot outside a studio where Biggie was recording and accused the rapper of being involved. After several diss tracks were released, Tupac lost his life in a Las Vegas drive-by shooting and just six months later, Biggie was dealt the same fate in LA.
Nas vs Jay-Z
Jay-Z and Nas's beef was another massive moment in hip-hop culture. After failing to arrive at the studio to record for Jay-Z's career-defining 1996 record Reasonable Doubt, Nas grew frustrated with Jay-Z. After calling Nas out on his hit Takeover, Nas dropped Ether – a song many call the greatest diss track of all time.
Nas ripped into Jay's Roc-A-Fella roster on the track which became a defining moment in hip-hop history. Jay responded with the deeply personal Supa Ugly and the feud continued until 2005 when the rivals united on stage during Jay-Z's I Declare War tour where they finally put their differences behind them.
Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill vs Joe Budden
When you take shots at the queen of rap, you know she's not going to let it slide. Joe Budden found this out the hard way when he had something to say about Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill, her boyfriend at the time, on his podcast. Budden seemed to have a problem with the couple's PDA levels, calling it "sappy."
Of course, this didn't sit well with the couple. Meek fired back with a series of tweets calling Budden an "Old hating noodle," adding that it's a "funeral when [Joe] takes the mic." Nicki also jumped in calling the rapper "jealous" before telling her fanbase to take over. "Barbz get em!" she tweeted.
Kylie Jenner vs Blac Chyna
Kylie Jenner and Blac Chyna have a complicated past. Chyna is her brother Rob's ex and her niece Dream's mother, but things have certainly turned sour between the two over the past few years. While the situation was already tense at home, when Chyna took shots at Kylie during a social media challenge, all hell broke loose.
The rapper shared a photograph of herself with enlarged lips using the hashtag #KylieJennerChallenge. Fans were quick to call Chyna out for the "inappropriate" post. Kylie, not usually one to air her dirty laundry, reportedly dealt with the situation privately and the family remains in a legal battle with Chyna even today.
50 Cent vs Ja Rule
50 Cent and Ja Rule's feud was once the biggest moment in hip-hop, but twenty years later, it seems these two just can't put their differences aside. How did the feud start? No one knows, really. Some say 50's associate grabbed Ja's necklace. Others believe Ja's label, Murder Inc. turned 50 away from a video shoot in Queens.
The truth is, this feud helped solidify both acts as hip-hop royalty. 50's hit single, Wanksta was written with Ja in mind, while Ja's comeback track, Loose Change became an instant hit with fans. The two still talk smack about each other today but, honestly, this is one feud that not many seem to care about anymore.
Jennifer Lopez vs Mariah Carey
It's the battle of the divas! JLo and Mariah Carey's feud spans over two-decades-long, ever since Lopez started working with Tommy Mottola, Carey's ex-husband, at Sony Music. After the couple split, Mottola spent a lot of time with Lopez in the studio, and Carey wasn't fond of this at all.
Carey felt that Mottola was using Lopez to derail her career claiming Lopez stole two of her tracks for herself. Since then, the two have thrown subtle shade at each other with Carey once telling Larry King, "Singing is first and foremost, it's a God-given talent that I'm grateful for. Her thing is something different." Ouch!
Shonda Rhimes vs Katherine Heigl
Shonda Rhimes has cemented herself as one of the greatest television visionaries of our time, and shows like Grey's Anatomy have a massive following over the years. However, while many love her storytelling, Katherine Heigl, who starred on the hit show, believed the series could have offered more.
So, when nominated for an Emmy Award in 2008, she withdrew her name from contention. "On some level, it stung, and on some level, I was not surprised," Shonda said in an interview. "When people show you who they are, believe them." It's not surprising that Katherine's character was written off the show soon after.
Michael Bay vs Megan Fox
Megan Fox's role as Mikaela Banes in Transformers catapulted her into superstardom, but despite being a fan favorite, the actress was not invited to star in the franchise's third film after calling out director Michael Bay for asking her to clean his car - something completely unrelated to her role in the film.
When she called out the horrific working conditions on set, she "was rejected because of qualities that are now being praised in other women coming forward," adding that Bay was "a nightmare to work for." Bay rebutted saying Fox wasn't invited to star in the third Transformers film because fame went to her head.
Amy Schumer vs Khloe Kardashian
A comedian's job is to make someone laugh and every now and again it may be at someone else's expense. However, when Amy Schumer joked about the Kardashians on an episode of Saturday Night Live, Khloe Kardashian didn't take it in jest - instead, it really rubbed the reality star the wrong way.
In the segment, Schumer joked that Khloe was the family's only "real" role model because she was the only sister without cosmetic enhancements or surgeries. She also commented on her weight loss saying "[Khloe] lost half her body weight. She lost a Kendall." Khloe, however, didn't find the joke funny at all.
Nicki Minaj vs Cardi B
They've broken billboard records, but instead of celebrating their game-changing success, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have always been at each other's throats. Some say the feud started after Nicki refused to acknowledge Cardi's talent when Bodak Yellow started blowing up.
However, after a few exchanges, the feud took a turning point when Nicki threw shade at Cardi's daughter Kulture. "When you mention my child... all bets are off!" Cardi tweeted. "I don't want to end this year on bad terms with anyone... APOLOGIZE TO ME." A few years have passed and their feud is still going strong.
Kendra Wilkinson vs Holly Madison
When you're dating the same guy, it's safe to assume claws will come out. That's exactly what happened to Kendra Wilkinson and Holly Madison when they were dating Hugh Hefner. In her tell-all memoir, Holly said, "When I arrived [at the Playboy Mansion], I saw women tell lies about other women and get them kicked out."
Unimpressed, Kendra called Holly out saying she was obsessed with drama because wanted to marry Hef for his money – and would do anything in her power to do so. Things took a deeper turn when Kendra used footage from Holly's book launch for her spin-off series Kendra On Top.
Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun
With one of the biggest reputations in the world, Scooter Braun was smiling all the way to the bank knowing he now owned all of Taylor Swift's masters after buying Big Machine Records in 2019. Not being offered the chance to buy her masters back, Taylor said she was "sad and grossed out" at the deal.
She explained that her dream was always to own her own masters and was unaware the deal was unfolding until Scooter announced it on social media. "Never in my worst nightmares did I imagine the buyer would be Scooter," she said in her response. But Swift got the last laugh with her Taylor's Version releases.
Lauren Conrad vs Heidi Montag
When reality TV was just starting to take off, the world was hooked on MTV’s The Hills – particularly on the show's leads Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag. Throughout the series, the former BFFs embarked on one of the greatest TV feuds in history. The reason for their clash? Heidi's now-husband Spencer Pratt.
"Lauren is a cold-hearted killer. She tried to destroy us," Spencer told Heidi in the show. In fact, the drama was so intense that Lauren almost pulled out of the show's third season because she felt bullied by the couple. While they'll never be friends, Lauren has put the feud to rest saying, "It didn't have to go that way."
Tati Westbrook vs James Charles
It's the battle of the beauty bloggers. When James Charles burst onto the make-up scene, established vlogger Tati Westbrook took it upon her to mentor the newcomer. But after Tati released a new range of vitamins and she learned that James was promoting a rival brand instead, she cut him off.
"I feel really used. I don't think there's any getting through to you, and I don't want to be friends with you," a disappointed Tati told James in a vlog. James owned up saying he shouldn't have promoted the other brand of vitamins, but it seems the damage had been done.
Chrissy Teigen vs Alison Roman
Alison Roman learned not to mess with Chrissy Teigen's empire during an interview on New Consumer. "What Chrissy Teigen has done is so crazy to me. She had a successful cookbook. And then, it was like boom, a line at Target. Boom, now she has an Instagram page... where it's just people running a content farm for her," she said.
Chrissy, who has never been afraid to speak her mind, responded "This is a huge bummer, and it hit me hard. We do this work ourselves, and there is NO monetary gain yet. It is just work, work, work, and the reward is you liking it." Alison apologized to Chrissy shortly after and we're happy to say this feud has been put to bed.
Lindsay Lohan vs Jennifer Lawrence
Actress Jennifer Lawrence has given some pretty hilarious interviews over the years. When discussing career fatigue with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, Lawrence said "I get like, Lindsay Lohan-grade exhaustion," adding she doesn't even party as hard as the Mean Girls star does.
While many laughed at the reference, the Lohan family was unimpressed. "I never breathe life into negativity. But I stand by my family. Disappointed in Jennifer Lawrence. You lost a fan," Lindsay's sister Aliana said. Lindsay's mom added, "It was disappointing that she didn't have her peer's back... My family sticks together."
Shane Dawson vs The Smith Family
The Smith family aren't afraid to speak their truth. So when YouTuber Shane Dawson posted a video of him thirsting over Willow in June 2020, Jada called him out on Twitter. "Shane Dawson… I'm done with the excuses," she wrote.
The Smiths are a tight-knit family, so it's not surprising that Jaden, Willow's brother, also jumped into the conversation. "You sexualizing an 11-year-old girl who happens to be my sister... is the furthest thing from funny and not OK in the slightest bit." Don't mess with the Smiths!
Naomi Campbell vs Tyra Banks
It's the battle of the models and, interestingly, Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks's feud dates back to 1992 when they both worked on the same photoshoot for Vogue. "People didn't realize that I was going home crying my eyes out because a woman that I was looking up to seemed like she just didn't want me to be there," Naomi said.
Since then, the two have remained amicable when asked about their feud in interviews, however, Tyra once did spill to E! that Naomi was rude to her several times during their long runway career and even tried to get the host fired from some of the gigs they worked together.
