During a recent conversation on The Morning Hustle, Chance the Rapper opened up about last year's leaked footage of him being yelled at by Kanye - and what it meant for their friendship. Last year, a short clip of Ye and Chano was leaked while the pair were together in Wyoming for a DONDA recording session. However, the footage showed Ye in a heated moment telling his friend to "Sit your a** down and listen to the album or leave," prompting a whole lotta questions and concerns from those who saw the video.
The Chicago natives go way back to the Life of Pablo era, where Chance helped Ye on a few tracks for the album - most famously Ultralight Beam, which went on to become one of the most popular songs of the album. Since then, they have collaborated on multiple songs, such as Sit Back, All We Got, and more. So it was no surprise that Chance visited Ye in Wyoming while recording DONDA.
However, according to Chance, the clip that surfaced on the web was "a larger moment, like no one's ever gonna get the full story of what's going on." Dame Dash, who took the reigns in creating the DONDA documentary, said Chano came out to Wyoming to check up on his friend due to the immense about of publicity surrounding his mental health and social media outbursts. Chance later confirmed that was the reason for his visit, but he was less than impressed with how people spun the video way out of proportion. "I saw people put fake captions under the video to make it look like he was talking about my music or something like that. But in all honesty, this is real life. I have real friends, and they go through real problems," he told the host.

Though the reasoning behind the outburst wasn't confirmed by Chance, the Cocoa Butter Kisses rapper told the host, despite the situation, "Me and a lot of other people still have love for Ye. But he's a human, he's not perfect. He was obviously going through it at that time… It made me re-evaluate my friendship with him, for sure. I had never been so close to him going through an episode." But "At the end of the day, I definitely love the dude. That's my guy," Chance confirmed. Love to hear it.
