Lauren London opened up to listeners as Angie Martinezs' first guest on the new podcast Angie Martinez IRL regarding some of the personal lessons she's learned since the passing of Nipsey Hussle. The actress talked about what life has looked like in the past three years since his death, their relationship, relationships in general, and a whole lotta other intimate topics during the 47-minute conversation.

The couple began dating back in 2013 and welcomed their son, Kross Ermias Asghedom, into the world three years later. Although the two had different stories on how their true California love story began, according to London, she "did not slide into his DMs." Instead, she bought Nipsey's mixtape as a gift for her co-stars on The Game, which led to the two following each other on Instagram and then you know how the rest unfolded. The rap legend only put out a thousand units, selling his mixtape for $100 a pop!

During the podcast episode, London spoke about how she believes "a lot of them [relationships] are ego-driven" and "not pure." However, the actress explains that her love for Nip was pure. "We had pure love, but that does not mean that our egos did not get attached in aspects of our relationship. But we definitely had pure love, always good intention." London told Martinez, "I didn't think about it until I wasn't in a relationship anymore because of the death. A lot of times we are such in our ego that we are in possession of another person. We're not experiencing them, we're not totally loving them and letting them be free. We think we're supposed to be together forever, and that's not a spiritual relationship."

The host also brought up how put together she looked at Nipsey's funeral, but according to London, "That wasn't me, that was all God. I didn't even want to get dressed, I was going to wear sweats." She revealed, "Puff pulled me aside and was like, 'Look, you have showed everybody what it looks like to hold a man down and to love him, now show them what it looks like when it all crumbles. That's your responsibility.' He's like a real brother." The two finished off their chat with Lauren revealing she's ready to leave L.A. but doesn't feel the timing is right for her family.
