Andrew Garfield recently proved that he is one of the greatest secret keepers of all time. Amid all the rumors back in 2020 that he and Tobey Maguire would make cameos in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Garfield was given instructions to tell absolutely no one about the role. Sure enough, he did exactly that.

In Josh Horowitz's podcast Happy Sad Confused, Garfield revealed that he was told he could not share the news of his participation in the movie. Apparently, Emma Stone, who had played Gwen Stacy in the first two The Amazing Spider-Man movies, was no exception. When asked in the interview if Marc Webb and Emma knew of his upcoming role, Garfield laughed as he recalled dodging Emma's persistent questions about the rumors. "Emma kept on texting me. She was like, 'Are you in this new Spider-Man film?' And I was like, 'I don't know what you're talking about!' She was like, 'Shut up, just tell me,' And like, I honestly… I kept it going, even with her, it's hilarious," Garfield said.

There's a reason the Amazing Spider-Man star has won so many accolades over the years - his acting skills are clearly impeccable. However, he wasn't let off scot-free for the sneaky stunt he pulled with Emma Stone. Garfield shared that when she realized he had kept her in the dark along with everyone else, she reportedly told him, "You're a jerk!" It's probably reassuring to the stars' millions of fans to know that they weren't the only ones who weren't told of the news. Hey, if Garfield's co-star and ex-girlfriend wasn't in the know, why would we be?

Anyhow, No Way Home, also starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Benedict Cumberbatch, ended up being a major success. By January 17, 2022, it has already grossed a total of $1.629 billion worldwide - making it the highest-grossing film of 2021 and the eighth-highest-grossing film of all time. But what's certain is that Garfield isn't letting the momentum stop there. He's set to star in Dustin Lance Black's Under the Banner of Heaven and in Brideshead Revisited. Be sure to stay tuned for more on this legend's upcoming projects!
