We don't know whether to be excited or already scared for what's to come - but we can't deny the hype: there's a new thriller from Jordan Peele coming our way! Nope is set to hit the theatres later this summer on July 22nd, according to Universal Pictures. So here's a sneak peek at what's to come.
It's been quite a ride for the comedian-turned-director since his first major blockbuster success back in 2017. Since Get Out, the film genius has released a movie nearly every year and earned four Academy Award nominations along the way. From Us to Candyman, Peele has made a name for himself as a creative legend with an eye for all things suspense and thriller. So it's no surprise that Nope is set to follow the same trend and leave us sitting at the edge of our seats. The trailer for the highly anticipated project dropped during Super Bowl Sunday and revealed some of the Hollywood stars that will be bringing the story to life. Keke Palmer, Daniel Kaluuya, and Steven Yeun are all slotted to appear in the film - including Euphoria's Barbie Ferreira. So, what horror is Peele bringing us this time?
The film will be telling the story of James and Jill Haywood, two ranch owners in rural California that are overcome by a strange and abnormal event that they witness. Throw in some need-to-know African American history and a sprinkle of suspense, and you've got Nope. Like most Peele projects, there are a lot of question marks surrounding the details of the plot, but that will surely make for a nail-biting first watch when the film hits theatres. From the trailer to the promotion posters, Jordan's been keeping things as cryptic as ever, and is definitely building the hype for this highly anticipated project.
