It may have started as a popular comic book, but this upcoming DC Comics film will be like nothing we've ever seen before. From the high-speed car chases to the fiery explosions, here's what to know about Batman's darkest adaptation yet.
On Saturday, October 16, DC FanDome finally dropped another inside look at The Batman reboot - and Gotham City has never looked grimmer. "Fear is a tool. When the (bat signal) light hits the sky, it's not just a call - it's a warning," Robert Pattinson's character warns during the clip's opening scene (below).

One glance at that trailer, and it appears Bruce Wayne's taken an entirely new approach to keeping bad guys off the streets. But don't quote us on that one: Batman "doesn't have as much control over his personality," Pattinson explained of the upcoming drama. "The delineation between when he's Batman and when he's Bruce is not so clear as other iterations... it's a little bit out of control. He hasn't completely defined what Batman is, but he gets lost in it. Whenever he's putting it on every night, he's not sleeping, and he's becoming this quite sort of odd creature."
But the Hollywood actor won't be the only unrecognizable face in the gritty adventure. As the trailer revealed, get ready to watch Zoe Kravitz and Colin Farrell appear as Catwoman and the Penguin, respectively. But don't get too excited - we've still got a while before we get to tag along ourselves.
The Batman is slated for a March 2022 release, a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In case you forgot, the long-awaited reboot was first teased over a year ago. Unfortunately, though, the pandemic had other plans - pushing the production date back by several months.
You can bet we'll be (impatiently) waiting here for the much-anticipated release. From the hefty payday (making Pattinson one of Hollywood's top-paid actors) to the mysterious storyline, Batman's latest adventure is bound to be one for the books.
Stay tuned.
