When Meta announced the cancellation of its talk show, Red Table Talk, Nick Cannon had a few things to say about the news. Here’s all the scoop.
On his AMP radio show, The Daily Cannon, Nick Cannon had a few choice words for the famous talk show, namely calling it “toxic.” For starters, Red Table Talk was hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Adrienne Banfield-Norris. The three generations of women would sit around a red table and cover various topics. Some of them were hard-hitting, like having Will Smith come on with all of his kids to discuss his slavery movie Emancipation. In contrast, others were lighter, like having dating experts talk about how to find and sustain a healthy relationship. Although the show had many fans and followers, Nick Cannon was def not one of them.
When his co-host Courtney Bee announced the Facebook Watch show’s cancellation, Cannon responded with, “Good!” He went on to say, “If there was no Red Table Talk, then he wouldn’t have slapped the sh** out of Chris Rock.” Cannon referenced the scandalous slap that Will Smith gave to host Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards in 2022. He wasn’t finished, either. Cannon continued, “Too much honesty can get you’re a** slapped in the face! We’ve seen this. That table was toxic. They made all them memes about my brother Will on that damn table. They didn’t need to do that.” He also shared that he felt that the Smith family considered themselves to be “royalty” because of the show. And he felt a type of way about the oversharing that happened on the show, saying, “They brought us to the table, like, ‘I don’t want to know all this sh** about ya’ll!’”
