SZA, no doubt, has got good days on her mind. In only a matter of time, the chart-topping artist will mark yet another accomplishment after making her way to the big-screen. From her Instagram reveal to the praise it called for, here's what to know about her latest win.
In a recent Instagram story, the R&B star first announced the big news: "Can’t believe I got the part I wanted. She’s an actress," she revealed, alongside a snap of a celebratory cake, which read, "Congrats record breaker and fire actress." Though, we should probably note, SZA didn't cop the sweet treat for herself. "Before y’all start, somebody BOUGHT me this cake. It’s a sweet gesture n I was being appreciative," she assured.
Sure enough, news of her latest venture came welcomed by most. "Everything [SZA] touch turn into gold. My girl is now adding ‘actress’ to her repertoire, congratulations babe," the artist's official photographer Annie Bercy chimed. Which, well, agreed. Is there anything she can't do?
In case you forgot, the Good Days artist has had quite the ride these days. Not only has she officially nabbed her dream role, but her latest single, I Hate U marks another major milestone for the 32-year-old. As Billboard recently announced, her track has already broken streaming records. Scaling the charts at No. 1, SZA's drop has become the most-streamed R&B song by a female artist on Apple Music during its first week.
"Honestly this started out as an exercise," she explained after dropping the single on Soundcloud. "I just wanted somewhere to dump my thoughts w out pressure." No doubt, her "exercise" was deemed an instant success. "Y’all made it a thing and I’m not mad lmao."
While we don't know much about her upcoming project, if it's anything like we've seen before, you won't want to miss it. In the meantime, be sure to check out her record-breaking single I Hate U. And, of course, don't forget to pop back in for all the latest updates.
