Hollywood’s a big place, so you might be shocked to know that a lot of our favorite celebs are actually family members! Keep reading for some of the most surprising celebrity relatives.
Yara Shahidi & Nasir Jones
Here are our first celebrity family members, Yara Shahidi and Nasir "Nas" Jones. She's an actress, and he's an iconic rapper, but… they're also first cousins! But Shahidi had no idea how famous her cousin was.
Shahidi actually confessed in an interview with Fuse magazine that she didn't really understand the extent of her cousin's fame when she was a little girl - even when she mingled with celebrities at her cousin's wedding, where she was the flower girl.
Rihanna, Rorrey, & Rajad Fenty
When we think of Rihanna, it’s hard to think of the family that grew up around her as this pop icon is such a singular figure. So brace yourself, as it may shock you to know that she has not one, but two younger brothers! Their names are Rorrey and Rajad.
Rihanna came into the world with the name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, with no idea of what the world had in store for her. The three siblings were raised by their mother, Monica Braithwaite, and their father, Ronald Fenty. And still, to this day, she and her brothers are as close as can be.
Rashida & Quincy Jones
You probably recognize this beauty as Anne Perkins from Parks and Rec, but did you know that the talented actress is the daughter of musician and record producer Quincy Jones? Her mother, Peggy Lipton, and her father also had a second child Kidada Jones, who works as an actress and model.
Rashida is close to her famous father. So close in fact that she even co-wrote and directed Quincy, a Netflix documentary following her dad's life and career. It was widely acclaimed and even won awards, possibly because of her closeness to the subject!
Al Roker & Lenny Kravitz
If you know Al Roker, the famous weatherman, your first thought probably isn’t that he shares a family lineage with rock star Lenny Kravitz. But it’s true! Lenny’s mother, Roxie Roker, was the first cousin of Al, making both Al and Lenny second cousins!
"My mother was Roxie Roker, my grandfather, Albert Roker from the Bahamas," is how Kravitz explained their surprising connection in an interview with TODAY in 2011. This means that both Al and Lenny share a great-great-grandfather if you trace their lineage back.
Berry Gordy Jr. & Redfoo
Stephen Kendal Gordy has come a long way from his start as the son of Berry Gordy Jr. Yes, you read that right - Redfoo from LMFAO is actually the youngest son of one of the founders of classic record label, Motown Records! But that’s not their only family revelation.
Stephen's other half in LMFAO, Sky Blu, is also a relative! He's Redfoo's nephew. Sadly, since their split, the pair don't see too much of each other. But according to Redfoo's take in an interview with the Press Association, "He'll always be my nephew; I'll always be his uncle."
Jaden, Willow, & Trey Smith
This entry may be one of the less surprising entries on this list since everyone knows that Jaden and Willow Smith are brother and sister. But did you know they have a third sibling? As it turns out, Will Smith has an older son, Willard Carroll "Trey" Smith II, from a previous marriage to Sheree Zampino.
In his younger years, Trey did appear in some films and television. But as he got older, he chose to move out of the limelight, where his younger siblings were far more comfortable. And despite the A-list status of the four-member unit (WIll, Jada, Willow, and Jaden), Trey still sees his father and siblings often.
Brandy Norwood & Snoop Dogg
If you're a fan of hip hop and R&B, you may know this already. But it was certainly news to us that singer Brandy Norwood and rapper Snoop Dogg were first cousins! Snoop even discussed it in a 2006 interview at MTV, saying, "We never really told the world because we weren't trippin' off of that, but that's my family."
They’re close too, posting about one another on their socials - as well as making the record Special together back in 2009 along with Pharrell Williams. But now let’s touch on the kind of relationship we haven’t mentioned yet… a famous father and son!
Denzel & John David Washington
Though some people may have noticed the resemblance, not everyone knows that actor and former football star John David Washington was the eldest son of ultra-famous actor Denzel Washington. He also has three younger siblings, though we’ve yet to see if they step into dad’s shows as well!
And with John David, it hasn't just been a fluke. The actor has made a strong impression already with his flourishing career, being nominated for multiple awards. World-renowned director Christopher Nolan has praised the actor for being "extraordinarily hard-working, very, very thoughtful, and very considerate."
Timbaland & Pharrell
In a surprise twist, it was actually Timbaland himself who revealed the truth about his famous cousin. On The Cruz Show, where he was also promoting his latest mixtape, the rapper admitted to the audience that he was related to singer-songwriter Pharrell.
Timbaland has even traced the exact point of their connection back to their grandmothers. Also known as Timothy Zachery Mosley, he told The Cruz Show audience, "We really family." The cousins even started out in the industry together, with the hip hop group S.B.I (Surrounded By Idiots).
Tracee Ellis & Diana Ross
If you’ve heard of the multi-talented actress, singer, and television host Tracee Ellis Ross, you’ve no doubt heard of her mother too. Though, you may not know that they’re related! Ellis was brought into the world by her mother, superstar singer Diana Ross and her father, Robert Ellis Silberstein.
They’ve actually joined each other on the red carpet multiple times, making a stunning pair as Tracee and Diana do bear a striking resemblance to each other. We bet they’ll go down in history as one of the most stunning mother-daughter duos in Hollywood!
Ludacris & Monica Denise Arnold
Singer Monica, also known as Monica Denise Arnold, also happens to be a cousin of early-2000s rapper Ludacris. Her mother was married to Reverend Edward Best, her stepfather, who was also the uncle of Ludacris. Both Monica and Ludacris began pursuing singing and rapping at a young age.
And no doubt this helped them bond when they met, as they quickly decided to start working together. In 2015 they released their first single, Ocean Skies, together, proving that you can mix family and business! We can't wait to hear what they do together next.
Cory Booker & RuPaul
Well, they may seem like an odd pair: New Jersey State Senator Cory Booker and Ru Paul, host of RuPaul's Drag Race, really are related! Ru Paul even invited Booker as a guest on season 13 of the show, saying, "Now, to explain the rules of the Lip Sync Smackdown, please welcome United States Senator and my cousin, Cory Booker."
And for skeptical viewers? "No, really, we are related," RuPaul insisted after the incredible announcement. And Booker's take? "Thank God for my cousin RuPaul." They discovered their family connection in 2020, on an episode of PBS' Finding Your Roots.
Gabrielle Union & Saweetie
Actress Gabrielle Union was recently flooded with questions after news spread that she was related to rapper Saweetie. In response, Union confirmed the news via social media, saying, "Her father and I are 1st cousins. Her grandma is my aunt Joanne Glass...#FunFact."
As second cousins, they haven’t spent a large amount of time together. But since rising to fame, Saweetie has spent more time visiting her cousin at small family gatherings. They even took to Instagram to share a recent reunion at Gabrielle and husband Dwayne Wade’s lavish home.
Sheila E & Nicole Richie
Nicole Richie’s family is well known - after all, she was adopted by the singer Lionel Richie at the height of his career. But did you know that her paternal aunt is Sheila E, the singer and percussionist? If you’ve seen A Simple Life, you might even remember Sheila appearing to talk about her niece.
She took to the screen to declare, "I love my niece Nicole." Years later she would even post about her on Instagram, with a photo of her family (including Richie), and the caption, "Me and my niece @nicolerichie love u beautiful." It's refreshing to see such a close aunt and niece relationship in Hollywood!
Jason Momoa & Zoë Kravitz
This one may be a real shocker for Aquaman fans - not only is Jason Momoa and Zoë Kravitz related, but he's actually her stepdad! After her mom's marriage to Zoë's father, Lenny Kravitz, she went on to marry her second husband, Jason, who is now Zoë's second father.
That's right, Zoë hasn't estranged herself from her mother's relationship. In fact, the father-daughter duo has become extremely close over the years. "[She's] a beautiful human being," Momoa shared with People magazine. They even have nicknames like "papa bear" and "rascal."
Stacey & Damon Dash
Have you heard? Clueless actress Stacey Dash and Damon Dash, one of the founders of Roc-A-Fella Records, are first cousins! But what’s even more shocking is that these family members are sadly not on good terms - in fact, they aren’t even on speaking terms!
Though they were close-knit when they were both coming up together, in more recent times, their relationship fell apart due to various online controversies. This largely involved their clashing political opinions. All we can do is hope and pray that they make things right in the future.
Steph & Seth Curry
We’re starting to think that talent might be a genetic trait, just take a look at Stephen “Steph” Curry and his brother, Seth. Both are successful basketballers, with Steph playing on the NBA's Golden State Warriors and Seth siding with the Philadelphia 76ers.
We can’t help but wonder what kind of sibling rivalries arise when the whole family gets back together. Not only that, but we wonder what it was like growing up in the Curry household? These boys dribbled their way from infancy to adulthood, their parents must be proud!
Sofia & Lionel Richie
We’ve already mentioned Lionel Richie’s adopted daughter, Nicole. But he also has a biological child, Sofia, who was born to his second wife, Diane. According to Sofia, her older sister's wild ways led to her having a far stricter upbringing than her older sis.
In an interview with Elle, she said her dad is "more strict because of my sister... I feel like now he's on the preventative side. It's not like I'm doing anything bad, but he went through all that with Nicole, so he's just strict to prevent it from happening again." We'd love to know Lionel's thoughts on the The Simple Life!
JWoww & Giovanna Marie LaValle
Remember Jersey Shore? Then you probably remember Snooki and JWoww, two of the closest friends that the show had. It was no surprise to fans, or other stars of the show, that JWoww eventually became an honorary member of Nicole Elizabeth "Snooki" LaVelle’s family.
When Snooki gave birth to her first child, Giovanna Marie LaVelle, it just made sense to name Jennifer Lynn "JWoww" Farley the godmother. And these days, they're still as thick as thieves, frequently joining both of their families together (with five children all up) for family outings!
Shaquille O’Neal & Bill Bellamy
Bill Bellamy, an actor and stand-up comedian hailing from Newark, New Jersey, has a not-so-little family secret. Namely, that fellow Newark native and former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal is his second cousin! According to him, Shaq is "a big, loving guy. You see how massive he is, but he's just a big Teddy Bear."
Unlike some people on this list, they're close too. "We still do a lot of stuff together," he continued in his interview with The News & Observer. "Our kids play basketball together. My son is 12, and his younger son is 15. Our families have a blast hanging out."
Patti Labelle & Mariah Carey
Did you know that your godparent doesn't have to be assigned at birth? That's what Mariah Carey discovered in 2010 when she realized that she wanted to grant singer Patti Labelle the belated title of godmother. According to Patti, "[Mariah] just asked me, and I said, 'Of course, you're my godchild.'"
She holds tight to the title as well, saying "That's my baby" about the iconic pop diva. And from her retelling of how they became godmother and goddaughter, it's obvious why Mariah made such an intimate request - they seem to be as close as a mother and daughter!
Diana Ross & Ashlee Simpson
This one is a real doozy, but yes: singers Ashlee Simpson and Diana Ross really are related (not to mention, it’s the second time Diana’s been on the list!). But not in a traditional way - Diana Ross is actually Ashlee’s mother-in-law since she married Diana’s son, Evan Ross.
This means that Ashlee is the sister-in-law of Tracee Ellis Ross - who now has connections to Ashlee’s sister Jessica and the rest of the Simpson family. Though they’ve posted plenty of family photos and seem to be a loving bunch, we can’t help but think Diana must make for an intimidating Mother-in-law.
Migos (Quavo, Offset, & Takeoff)
If you’ve been paying any attention to pop music in recent years, then you’re familiar with the hip-hop trio Migos, who’ve been making their fans move to the beat for over a decade. These three Georgia natives aren’t just best friends and coworkers, though - they’re family!
There are layers to the family dynamic of this supergroup. Quavo and Offset are first cousins, whereas Takeoff is Offset’s nephew. These three grew up together, so it’s no wonder they’re able to collaborate so naturally and easily. Maybe more cousins should start forming hip-hop groups?
Dave, James, & Tom Franco
If you pay any attention to Hollywood news, then you’ll know that James and Dave Franco are related. Not only because they’re both handsome AND talented, but because they’ve collaborated together! But what you may not know is that they also collaborated with their other brother, Tom.
That’s right, in 2017, James Franco directed the film The Disaster Artist, casting his youngest brother Dave to play alongside him. And in a smaller and more subtle cameo role, they also cast the middle brother, Tom. It looks like the Franco’s are a truly theatrical family!
Jared & Shannon Leto
Fans of the band 30 Seconds To Mars won’t be surprised that its two founding members, Jared and Shannon Leto, were brothers all along. But it might come as a surprise for those familiar with their acting careers! Both brothers love acting and music and even acted together in My So-Called Life back in 1994.
According to Shannon, sharing the stage and screen with his brother has been a complete blessing: "It's great always knowing that there's someone having your back no matter what challenges arise." If only every Hollywood family had the same mentality!
Edwin & Aldis Hodge
Many people haven’t put two and two together yet, but we now know that Edwin and Aldis Hodge are brothers! These talented actors grew up together in North Carolina, raised by their parents Basil Hodge and Yolette Evangeline Richardson. They’ve shared parents, a family home, and a dream career!
Aldis, the younger of the two, got his first big break in the TNT series Leverage, and his older brother soon followed suit by appearing in the first three Purge movies - the only actor who can claim such an achievement! If that wasn’t inspiring enough, the two brothers even appeared on an episode of Leverage together.
Julia & Emma Roberts
Imagine growing up with an A-list celebrity aunt, only to become just as famous?! Well, that's the case for Emma Roberts, who just so happens to be the niece of actress Julia Roberts. And what’s more, the two have been as close as can be since Emma was a little girl.
So of course she wanted to follow in her aunt's footsteps! In an interview on the Queen Latifa Show, Emma confessed that she frequently visited Julia’s sets and used to try on her outfits as a child. Back in 2010 the two even appeared in the same film, Valentine’s Day, though sadly they never appeared in the same scene.
Debbie Allen & Phylicia Rashad
It must be interesting to grow up in an uber-talented family. Just ask Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad! These two sisters are standout actresses who have both made names for themselves in their respective roles. We just wonder if Phylicia was giving Debbie acting tips along the way!
Rashad got her big break on The Cosby Show as Claire Huxtable, whereas Debbie came to fame as a choreographer and star of the 1982 hit series Fame. Though the two sisters enjoyed their career successes a whole generation apart, we can definitely still see the family resemblance!
Chris, Liam & Luke Hemsworth
Chris and Liam Hemsworth are jaw-dropping enough as it is - we don’t know if we could handle another Hemsworth brother! But yes, it’s true. The stars of Thor and The Hunger Games have a third sibling, and he’s also carving out a career for himself in Hollywood.
Luke Hemsworth, the oldest of the Hemsworth boys, has had his own share of impressive roles. But he is best known for playing Ashley Stubbs in the hit HBO show Westworld. We can’t help but imagine the sibling rivalries that happen when all three brothers are celebrated actors!
Ice Cube & O'Shea Jackson Jr.
O'Shea Jackson was never fazed by his father’s fame - in fact, he loved it! "Being on set with my dad - that's so cool. People always ask me if that made me nervous, but it's the same element when you're a kid - when your parents come in the auditorium for those school performances. It calms you," he said.
It’s no wonder he’s so inspired by Ice Cube, his famous father. He’s even forayed into acting and music, carving out a similar career path. And O’shea’s coolest role to date had to be in 2015’s Straight Outta Compton, where he played his own dad! We’re sure Cube was proud as punch.
Omar & Cuba Gooding, Jr.
You probably recognize Cuba Gooding Jr. from his various film and tv roles over the years. But did you know that his older brother, Omar, works in the same industry? These two men have been supporting each other’s careers since they started. In fact, Omar was the one who helped Cuba get his first job!
Both of their parents were entertainers, so it’s no surprise they’ve found success in Hollywood. Cuba has starred in films like Boyz n the Hood and Jerry Maguire, and Omar is best known for his roles on Hangin' with Mr. Cooper and the Nickelodeon game show Wild & Crazy Kids.
Jonah Hill & Beanie Feldstein
Actor-turned-director Jonah Hill caused some confusion amongst fans when he got a new tattoo of the words “Hello, Beanie!” But things began to make more sense when he took to the red carpet wearing a sweatshirt embroidered with the words, “Beanie’s Brother.”
As it turns out, “Beanie” is the name of his sister, Beanie Feldstein! The two are very tight-knit, and Jonah got the tattoo to commemorate his little sister’s 2017 Broadway performance in Hello, Dolly. They even post about each other on social media, proving that their sibling relationship is nothing short of heartwarming.
Steve & Wood Harris
Just like Jonah and Beanie, we’re all for famous siblings lifting each other up. And that’s certainly the case for acting brothers Steve and Wood Harris. It was Steve who helped nourish his younger brother's love for acting, and the two both studied film & television after high school.
These days both men are thriving in their shared careers, starring in many tv-series and movies since they started in the industry. And no doubt their seamstress mother, Mattie, and bus-driving father, John Harris, are thrilled by their success! We know we would be.
Owen & Luke Wilson
Luke and Owen Wilson aren’t just brothers with similar careers. They actually started out acting in the same project, namely the 90s hit indie film Bottle Rocket, directed by a young Wes Anderson. The trio filmed the low-budget wonder in their home city of Dallas, Texas.
The Wilson brothers have come a long way since the days of scraping together funding for student films. Now they’re household names! But considering that Owen’s net worth is about $20M more than Luke’s (according to Celebrity Net Worth), we’re sure there’s a little bit of sibling rivalry between the two.
Mabel McVey & Neneh Cherry
If you were ever a fan of the Swedish singer Neneh Cherry, you might be surprised to know that her daughter is a singer herself! Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey has been building her career in the industry, though sadly she and her famous mother have had their fair share of family issues.
But as of 2020 Mabel and Neneh seemed to have put the drama behind them, shown when Mabel accepted a BRIT Award for British Female Solo Artist. During her acceptance speech, she made sure to acknowledge her talented mom, who won her own BRIT awards three decades before her daughter!
Liev & Pablo Schreiber
When you put Liev and Pablo Schrieber side-by-side, they look like they could be related. And that’s because they’re half brothers! With 11 years between them, we have to wonder if Pablo looked up to his successful older brother, who started acting in his 20s.
Both Liev and Pablo were raised by their father, the actor Tell Carroll Schreiber. But the truth is these brothers weren’t close in their younger years, as they didn’t really grow up together due to their age gap. As adults, they seem much closer and even acted together in The Manchurian Candidate back in 2004.
Viola Davis & Mike Colter
As this list has shown, a lot of us don’t know about some of these celebrity connections. But in the case of Viola Davis and Mike Colter, they didn’t know they were related either! It wasn’t until 2019 that the two actors discovered that they were, in fact, cousins.
"You know, honestly, we had never met, but our families have family reunions, and they talk about us," Colter revealed in an interview with Essence. Since then the two have spent time getting to know each other properly, and Davis even went online to wish her cousin a happy birthday.
Vince Carter & Tracy McGrady
Imagine living your dream of becoming a pro athlete, with your cousin by your side the whole time? Well, that’s exactly what happened to Vince Carter and Tracy Mcgrady, who grew up together and even went to the same high school. Soon after they were both drafted by the NBA, and joined the Toronto Raptors as teammates!
Both men dominated the court during their time with the Raptors, but eventually parted ways. Carter moved on to several teams before settling with the Atlanta Hawks for the last seasons of his career, and McGrady briefly joined the Antonio Spurs before his retirement in 2013.
Macaulay Culkin & Paris Jackson
Not all relatives are by blood, and Paris Jackson and Macauley Culkin prove that their godfather/goddaughter relationship is just as important as others. The Home Alone star has been close with Paris’ and her brothers since they were kids, and they still feel that connection today.
For Culkin’s birthday, Paris jumped on Instagram to share her love for her godfather, telling him "I absolutely adore you," and sharing cute memories of him teaching her how to waltz. If that’s not enough, the two apparently share matching spoon tattoos as well!
Da Brat & LisaRaye McCoy
When it comes to the rap game it’s pretty common for artists to have beef with one another. But in the case of Da Brat, AKA Shawntae Harris, and her drama with the actress LisaRaye McCoy, it’s a little more personal. That’s because the two women are half-sisters!
Harris and McCoy are both daughters of the Chicago entrepreneur and hotel tycoon David Ray McCoy, so it makes sense that they’ve managed to engineer their own successful careers. We’re just glad to hear that these similar-looking sisters have since moved on from their beef and made up with each other.
Travie McCoy & Tyga
Though their musical styles are quite different, cousins Travie McCoy and rapper Tyga are fairly close. So close in fact, that they’ve even shared the stage together! We love to see family collaboration. And it seems like Tyga’s older cousin has had a good influence on him.
In an interview with Young Hollywood Travie revealed that he basically watched the younger man grow up. He’s tried to impart some words of advice on Tyga, such as telling him to "Stop buying jewelry and invest in better things." Don’t we all wish we had a wise older cousin like Travie?
Dolly Parton & Miley Cyrus
Country music icon Dolly Parton and Billy Ray Cyrus have been collaborating since the 1990s. And during that time Dolly also met a future star who left a big impression - his daughter, Miley Cyrus! In an interview with SiriusXM's Just Jenny, she revealed that she and Miley quickly developed a close bond.
What’s more, Dolly knew straight away that she wanted to be a part of the little girl's life. "When Miley came along, I said, 'She's got to be my fairy goddaughter,'" she shared. And years later she even made an appearance on Miley’s Disney show Hannah Montana as her godmother, proving that art really does imitate life!
Janet Jackson & Stevie Wonder
The pop star Janet Jackson once said in an interview, "People don't know this one; Stevie is actually our cousin on my mother's side." And of course, she’s talking about Stevie Wonder, who is the first cousin of Janet and her Jackson 6 siblings. We can hardly imagine a more talented family!
So it was very fitting that in 2011 Janet was asked to take the stage and present her cousin Stevie with his induction into the NAACP Hall of Fame. It must have been a touching moment, and she made sure to share their family connection with the audience.
Martin Lawrence & Christopher Martin
Martin Lawrence is a comedian, and Christopher Martin is a rapper. Both careers may seem far from similar. But two aspects have actually brought this duo together - acting and family. First, the two of them starred in the movie House Party as cousins!
And in the case of art mimicking life, it turns out that Lawrence and Martin are real cousins! Though neither of them wrote or directed the movie, we can’t help but wonder if their roles were inspired by their off-screen relationship. It must have been a lot of fun being on set with them.
Barack Obama & Brad Pitt
Who would've thought that none other than former President Barack Obama and actor Brad Pitt are related! Sure enough, they're 9th cousins, connected via an ancestor named Edwin Hickman. Through some research, it was found that Obama is a direct descendant of Hickman's son, James.
Obama descends from Hickman's son James, whereas Brad comes from the lines of Hickman's other son, Edwin Jr. According to experts at the New England Historic Genealogical Society, "If people have ancestors in a common part of the country, they will be more likely to find connections - in Obama and Pitt's case the South."
Melissa Gorga & Ralph Macchio
Right before her appearance on the talk show Watch What Happens Live, Real Housewives of New Jersey personality Melissa Gorga took to Twitter to confront rumors that had been circulating. One fan had tweeted about the star, wondering if it was true that she was related to Karate Kid star Ralph Macchio.
"Yes, we are!!" she said in response. Later in an interview with Huffington Post, she elaborated further on these connections, saying, "We are like really distant cousins. Never even met him…We always said it when we were little. It's like through marriage, my aunt Rosie."
Fantasia Barrino, K-CI, & JoJo
Fantasia sure is a throwback to the 90s, but the I'm Outta Love singer has also been making waves due to her family connections. According to CNN, "Fantasia comes from a family of singers and musicians." In fact, the singing duo Jodeci is composed of her cousins, brothers K-CI and JoJo.
All three family members have been performing music since they were kids, so it’s no surprise that they’ve also taken to the stage together. The three of them performed together as recently as the 2018 Essence Festival. And we can’t help but wonder what their childhood jams would have been like.
Beyoncé Knowles & Bianca Lawson
Yes, we're talking about Beyoncé. But no, it's not about her equally talented sister Solange. As it turns out, Queen B has another celebrity family member - her step-sister, Bianca Lawson. Known for her roles in Dawson's Creek and Save the Last Dance, Bianca's father is actually married to Beyoncé's mom, Tina.
With two larger-than-life pop stars and a famous actress, we can’t imagine the level of flair and drama that must exist in the Lawson and Knowles household. But one thing we do want to know is - how do they both still look so young?! Hopefully, Bey’s upcoming release will include her family’s skincare routine.
Halle Berry & Sarah Palin
Most of these celebrity relationships are a pleasant surprise for readers, but some can be pretty unpleasant… even for the people involved! That’s what happened to Halle Berry, who took to Twitter with this shocker. "You wanna know who I'm related to? Sarah Palin…She may be on the tree, but she 'AINT invited to the cookout."
It seems that the actress wasn’t interested in sharing details. And her response when one Twitter user asked how they were related? “Some twisted way.” We haven’t heard a response from politician Palin, but we think it’s safe to say there won’t be a family reunion anytime soon.
Chad & Syleena Johnson
Many of the celebrity relatives on this list have found success in similar fields, so it’s always interesting to see siblings who gained fame in totally different industries. Just take a look at Chad and Syleena Johnson, half-siblings who excel as football stars and singers, respectively.
For fans of both Chad and Syleena, finding out about their connection was priceless. However, Chad doesn’t seem interested in their fascination with this little tidbit. When asked about it on Twitter he simply replied, "Yes, that's my sister; everybody knows that." Did you?
Maya Rudolph & Minnie Riperton
Maya Rudolph may be an actress and comedian, but if you’ve ever heard her sing you’re probably wondering where she got her impressive pipes. And the answer is her mother, the incredible singer-songwriter Minnie Riperton. Many people don’t know the connection, but once you look at them both it’s impossible to miss.
Given Maya’s singing ability, we’ve got to wonder - was her mother just as funny as she was? Whether she was or not, they’re both clearly talented women and it’s refreshing to see Minnie’s daughter thriving in the limelight. We know that she’d be proud!
Brody Jenner & Stormi Webster
Believe it or not, TV personality Brody Jenner "Didn't even know [his half-sister Kylie] was pregnant for the entire pregnancy." At least that’s what he claimed in a 2018 interview with TMZ. But he made up for it by sharing that he hoped to meet little Stormi when the time was right.
The Kardashian-Jenner clan seems close, so we’re sure he and his niece have come into contact at least once since her birth in 2018 (though there’s no photographic evidence yet). In fact, we’d love to see an old-fashioned family reunion with Brody, Stormi, and the entire Kardashian-Jenner crew!
Baron Davis & Spike Lee
With their thick-framed glasses and similar facial hair, it’s easy to see how pro basketballer Baron David and iconic filmmaker Spike Lee might have a family connection. And Lee even logged into Twitter to confirm it, writing "Baron and I are 2nd cousins - Share Alabama roots."
The two cousins have made the most of their Alabama roots, often seen on the red carpet and attending b-ball games together. And with Davis now dabbling into film production, we have to assume his older cousin has taken him under his wing. How’s that for family support?
Paris Hilton & Marilyn Monroe
Since the release of the 2020 documentary This Is Paris, the world has discovered some surprising things about A-list socialite, DJ, and entrepreneur Paris Hilton. But it didn’t include what might be the most interesting tidbit of all - her super famous relatives!
In a 2020 interview with Cosmopolitan Hilton revealed, "Mom just did one of those 23andMe DNA kits, and I am related to Marilyn Monroe and Queen Elizabeth." That’s right, this famous blonde is related to the most famous blonde of all time, and the most famous royal!
Nia Long & Sommore
Like Liev and Pablo Schrieber, Nia Long and Sommore are two famous half-sisters who didn’t see much of each other in their younger years. Sommore even went so far as to say they were "not necessarily sisters," despite sharing a parent. She wasn’t throwing shade at Nia - they just didn’t grow up together.
Like a lot of family members, the two siblings were eventually brought together by sad circumstances. Their father, Doughtry “Doc” Long, passed away in 2020. As a result, the sisters seemed to grow closer, and Nia even described Sommore as "the funny one in the family," after sharing a photo of her and her sister on social media.
