The annual Summer Jam concert is going to be lit, from what we can tell! It was announced that Cardi B would be headlining the event, and we’re already dancing to the beat. Here are all the deets on what is sure to be the biggest event of the summer.
The New York radio station Hot 97 puts on this event every year, and this year they’re going all out. The biggest names in hip-hop are scheduled to appear at the concert, with the biggest catch being New York native Cardi B headlining the show. From Bodak Yellow to WAP, her songs have been at the top of the charts ever since she came onto the scene. The line-up also includes Ice Spice, GloRilla, Coi Leray, and Lola Brooke - talk about female power! Brooke said on Ebro In The Morning, “This means everything to me. This [is] a New York City artist dream… It’s so crazy because the first time I ever been to Summer Jam, I said I wasn’t coming back [until] I was on stage, and I never came back.”
French Montana, Lil Tjay, Fivio Foreign, and other hot artists are all set to perform at this year's annual concert. And there's even more reason to celebrate as the event coincides with hip-hop's 50th anniversary, making the show an absolute must-see for fans of the music genre. Bradford Tobin, Hot 97’s president, chief operating officer, and general counsel, said in a press statement, “HOT 97’s Summer Jam is a hip-hop staple, and we are excited to bring the most electric show of the summer back to New York for Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary.” Plus, there are still more acts that are waiting to be announced! This is going to be the place to be in summer 2023.
