She's no "regular degular" girl anymore: Cardi's name may have been tossed around on stage before. But this time around, the award-winning hitmaker will be the one taking the mic as she hosts the annual American Music Awards. From the announcement to what to expect, here's what we know about the 2021 AMAs.
On Tuesday, November 2, executive producer Jesse Collins first broke the big news: "We are immensely excited to have the dynamic Cardi B bring her infectious energy to the American Music Awards as a first-time host," he announced. And from the sounds of it, Cardi is just as excited as we are.

"When I received the invite to host the AMAs, I was so excited," the Bodak Yellow rapper revealed. "I'm ready to bring my personality to the AMAs stage." We don't doubt that. But she won't be the only one turning heads when the annual awards show comes rolling around...
While we have yet to cop this year's lineup, we've got a feeling you won't want to miss the performances slated for the big night. With Emmy-nominated producer Jesse Collins calling the shots here, we're sure he'll be pulling out all the stops. "The fans are at the heart of this show, and this year's show promises high-caliber, unforgettable performances we've all come to expect from this spectacular night of music and celebration," Rob Mills, EVP of Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment, teased.
Might The Weeknd make a return to the stage? Or perhaps will Doja show us how it's done? While we guess only time will tell, the upcoming awards show will be well worth the wait. From Cardi's hosting debut to the "high-caliber, unforgettable performances" promised, make sure to tune in on November 21 when the AMAs hit our screens.
Until then, check out the complete list of nominees, and be sure to stay tuned to see which of our favorite stars walk home a winner.
