| LAST UPDATE 10/17/2021
8-Mile's Eminem has grown widely popular as a self-proclaimed "Rap God," but from his stellar songs to his stage presence, there have been many drops of musical knowledge that he's shared with his fans. And this time, he's here to prove once and for all that the word "Orange" can actually be rhymed with.
"The word orange doesn't rhyme with anything, and it kind of pisses me off because I can think of a lot of things that rhyme with orange," the rap mogul explained. "If you're taking the word at face value, and you just say 'orange,' nothing is going to rhyme with it exactly," he continued.
However, with a special Slim Shady touch, he explained that it is actually possible. All a free-styler would need to do to win the rap battle is get a little creative and put some thought into how they're pronouncing the word. The rapper gave us some bars, for example...
"If you enunciate it and make it more than one syllable, or-ange, you can say, like, I put my or-ange, four-inch, door hinge in storage and ate porr-idge with George," Eminem explained. In addition, he suggested that an important way to make this work with other tricky words is to "Figure out the science of breaking down words."
Now, we don't know about you, but if there's anyone we would gladly take music or lyric advice from, it's this pro. Due to his life being full of overcoming the many curveballs the world has thrown at him, Eminem's music is not only full of emotion and passion but also represents playful lyricism and creativity.
The talented singer explained during his Rhymetime with Eminem, that one of the most important things he did in the years before becoming the legend he is today was to read the dictionary to be able to "Have all of these words at [his] disposal in [his] vocabulary for whenever [he] needed to pull them out. How's that for a commitment?
