French Montana has officially released his latest album, Coke Boy 6: Money Heist Edition, and there's a whole lotta buzz circulating around the long-awaited album. The Gangsta Grillz Mixtape was released just hours after the rapper and DJ Drama posted the whole 29-song tracklist to their social media, giving fans a little taste of what to expect.

The album was originally planned to release in December, after the rapper first announced the release the month before, but was evidently pushed back until 2023. Last minute, French surprised his fans by revealing the last-minute drop. "2023 New Year…Same Hustle Droppin 1/6,” he wrote. “@frenchmontana ‘Coke Boys 6…Money Heist Edition’ Gangsta Grillz…I Gave Yall A Chance To Catch Up…What Happened." Coke Boys 6 is the artist's first released project since his album last year, Montega.

After the major success of his tenth mixtape, Coke Boys, in 2010, French turned the album into a continued project, with this album being the sixth installation in the series. Following his last mixtape album, CB5, from November 2020, the Moroccan-born rapper did not hold back whatsoever for lucky number six, collaborating with some of the industry's biggest names in music. Some noteworthy names on the record range from Benny The Butcher to NAV, A$AP Rocky, and Jeremih. French linked up with rapper Kodak Black to release the official remix of Montana's Can't Stop Won't Stop collaboration with King Combs. Additionally, French let his fans know there will be a "classic version" of the album now also available featuring 20 tracks.

Unfortunately, while celebrating the album's release French Montana and a group of friends "were at the wrong place, at the wrong time." Over the weekend, a shooting went down at Miami Gardens, and they were caught in the crossfire. Unfortunately, over 10 people were hit during the horrific event, with many left injured. "Last night, I was in Miami celebrating the release of my CB6 mixtape w/ friends at a local restaurant. We, unfortunately, were at the wrong place, at the wrong time when an incident took place that left people hurt. Our thoughts & prayers are w/ the victims & families at this time," French shared. Stay tuned for more updates.
