He's a man of many surprises, and his latest endeavor is no exception: in typical 'Ye nature, the Donda rapper decided to throw a sudden NYE party - mere hours before the new year. From his surprise announcement to the star-studded lineup, here's what went down. Keep scrolling.
On Friday, December 31, West took to the 'gram to announce the big news: hosted by Justin LaBoy, the Miami gig - dubbed the "New Year's Eve Black Party" - was set to bring out lots of big names. As 'Ye revealed, both Quavo and Future were set to join him on the big stage. But while the announcement came out of left field, the timing was anything but random.
In case you forgot, there was another New Year's gig going down in the 305 that night. Hosted by Miley Cyrus, Miley's New Year's Eve Party saw co-host Pete Davidson join in on the Miami festivities. As for where 'Ye ties into all this? According to several reports, the SNL star invited Mr. West's ex, Kim Kardashian (who he's been linked to recently), to join him at the televised gig. Convenient timing or was our Christian Genius Billionaire already ten steps ahead of us?

According to the online world, perhaps he was. "Kanye organizing an impromptu NYE party in Miami because Pete Davidson has a NYE party in Miami is the kind of petty I love," one user shaded. "Oh, he's petty petty," wrote another. While perhaps we'll never know what compelled West to head, well, south, we do one thing...
Oh he’s petty petty. Kanye really is about to go neck to neck with Pete. What, he’s going to do stand up now too? pic.twitter.com/e3KQlYTp2J

This isn't the first time 'Ye's motives were brought into question. In fact, just the other week, the rapper made headlines after copping a new mansion in Hidden Hills' gated community. As the New York Post revealed, the $4.5 million pad sits directly across the street from his ex-wife. We see what you did there, 'Ye.
Stay tuned, who knows what other grand gestures Mr. West has planned for the new year...
