On October 1st, Saturday Night Live is returning to our screens on NBC for its 48th season. Considering their history of incredibly musically talented guests, the producers have strung together a lineup of artists to kick off the series. While SNL usually provides a stage to debut new tracks, it looks like these celebrities will have quite the show to put on.

The show is about to make a showstopping return. Last season, audiences and fans said goodbye to some beloved and long-lived castmates such as Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Kyle Mooney, Chris Redd, and Aidy Bryant. Since their departures, the show is sure to have its comeback with a few surprises. The show's latest series premiere will be hosted by Miles Teller, which will be his first time hosting the show. Following his monologue, audiences will watch the first featured performance, which rapper Kendrick Lamar will do. While Lamar is already at the top of the charts, his performance is bound to gain a standing ovation. Lamar last appeared on the show in 2018 when he performed 'Tints' with Anderson .Paak. Before that, he was also invited as a musical guest in February and November 2014, and January 2013.

As the show series goes on, each week will be presented with someone new. Following Teller and Lamar's SNL launch, Irish actor Brandon Gleeson will host the next episode. Gleeson is primarily famous for his roles in Hampstead (2017) and The Guard (2011). After Gleeson opens the show, the musical prodigy and the daughter of Will and Jada Pinket Smith, Willow, will be the musical guest. Last but not least, the third appearance that has been announced is none other than the savage herself, Megan Thee Stallion. Stallion first appeared on the show in October 2019, where she debuted her single 'Handsome,' and Chance the Rapper hosted. The following year, she performed her hit 'Savage' and 'Don't Stop.' This time around, she is taking center stage as host as well as musical guest, marking a new statement in her career.

As we await the season premiere, there is new music and cast members who are waiting for their debut. While Kendrick Lamar has just released his latest album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, in May, and Megan Thee Stallion recently shared her latest record, 'Traumazine' in August, they have confirmed four new castmates. Now, all we can do is wait as it's only a few weeks away before we can say 'live from New York' once again!
