Lil Nas X went from a threatening lawsuit to a fire award show. Not a bad comeback! The Grammy winner showed Barclays Stadium what he was made of and delivered some showstopping performances along the way.
The 21-year-old Georgia native hit the 2021 MTV VMAs on Sunday night, marking his second year at the award show. And second time proved to be the charm for the famous rapper. He hit the stage to perform two of his most famous singles to date: Industry Baby and Montero: Call Me By Your Name. The rapper put on a back-to-back four-and-a-half-minute show for the thousands of fans packed into the Brooklyn stadium. The performance offered a fresh new twist on his Billboard-topping tracks and featured a marching band-style remix of Industry Baby and a fresh new choreography.
But the rapper's time on stage wasn't over by a mile. The rapper went on to snag not one, not two, but three awards for his viral music video for Montero: Call Me By Your Name. The track, which dropped back on March 26th, went on to rake in nearly 350 million streams and fueled the major hype surrounding his upcoming album release. One thing's for sure: Lil Nas X certainly knows how to get the crowd even more excited for his September 17th album drop.
From Video of the Year to Best Direction and Best Visual Effects, the SUN GOES DOWN artist had a seriously good night with some of the biggest faces in the industry.
