We have been patiently waiting for the mixtape of a lifetime, I Can't Feel My Face, for 15 years now. And well, the joint project is finally getting a revival. Nearly two decades ago, Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana announced they would be linking up for a collaborative mixtape, but life happened, and the two music legends had to put the record on hold - until now. Santana took to his 'gram over the weekend to share that the duo is in the studio working on Carter VI - heres what they've been cooking up...

Weezy and Santana go way back. The Dipset member and Tunechi have been in the biz for decades now, so when the duo announced I Can't Feel My Face back in 2007, fans everywhere were hyped to get their hands on the joint record. However, the artists both got into some legal trouble, delaying the album year after year - but fast forward to 2022, and we finally have some hope.

Back in 2010, Lil Wayne got into some trouble with the law, which resulted in 8 months in jail, putting a hold on the album. However, the following year, Santana got into some legal trouble of his own when his New Jersey recording studio was raided by the police, causing him to shut down for the time being. Following Weezy's release, the artist revealed to MTV he reached out to Elz, saying it was time to "really capitalize on that." However, due to his studio being shut down, the artists weren't able to link up and work in a "time-fashion," according to Tunechi. But that was never going to stop the duo from linking up and working together again.

Following the news of Santana's independent label dropping, I Can't Feel My Face, the artist took to his Instagram to share a short clip of him and Weezy in the studio cooking up something! The video showed the two hanging out as Tunechi goes over a few rhymes in his head and then takes his skills to the guitar. "CARTER 6 In Process… #ICFMFLifeslstyle #WeInMotion #BackOutSide," Santana captioned the post. We're hoping that this means the two are also working on the prolonged, highly anticipated mixtape, which according to Santana, is "definitely not unlikely to happen," sometime soon. Stay tuned.
