| LAST UPDATE 09/15/2022
Rapper PnB Rock has been pronounced dead after being fatally shot earlier this week while eating at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles with his girlfriend. Born Rakim Hasheem Allen, the Philly native was just 30 years old, leaving behind two young children and girlfriend, Steph Sibounheuang. Fans and fellow artists in the hip-hop community have gathered together via social media to share heartfelt messages in honor of the rapper.
The musician was sitting with his girlfriend when he was approached by a gunman who reportedly demanded he hand over his jewelry before he started opening fire inside the fast-food joint. According to the Los Angeles Police Department Captain Kelly Muniz, the rapper was targeted during the robbery and "shot the victim and ran out the side door to a getaway car and then fled the parking lot." Rock had taken to his social media earlier that day that he was sporting the expensive bling. The suspect has still not been located. The Selfish rapper was rushed to the hospital and died 45 minutes later.
Fellow musicians, producers, members of the hip-hop community, and fans have shared personal memories, throwbacks, and words of condolences in honor of the great artist and his family. The Philly native has worked alongside Chance the Rapper, 2 Chainz, Kodak Black, Post Malone, Young Thug, Ed Sheeran, and more since signing a deal with Atlantic Records in 2014. Fellow rappers such as Meek Mill and Drake both took to their Instagram stories to share some throwback images of them together. Both Quavo and Offset took to Twitter to send their condolences to the rapper and his family. "Pray for pnb rock….the man got family and kids smh God be with the man," Offset tweeted following his death.
After Pop Smoke there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations to our whereabouts. To show waffles & some fried chicken????! He was such a pleasure to work with. Condolences to his mom & family. This makes me feel so sick. Jesus. #SIP #PnbRock 🕊

Audiences had connected Rock's death to Pop Smoke's passing last year after the young rapper was killed in a Hollywood Hills burglary when the rapper's address was exposed via social media. People are claiming the robbers had knowledge of where PnB was following a social media post exposing his location. Nicki Minaj used her platform to urge fellow rappers to stay clear of posting their locations on social media, in addition to sending her love and support to PnB's family.
