We have good news for all the Barbz fans out there! In a recent conversation with Jada Pinkett Smith for Interview Magazine, Minaj let us all know we might be getting a new album a lot sooner than we thought - and of course, we cannot wait! Minaj hasn't dropped an album since 2018, with the release of Queen, but earlier this summer, we nabbed Nicki's first greatest hits album, Queen Radio: Volume 1. But no worries, everyone, it sounds like we won't have to wait much longer for new tunes, according to the Barbie herself.
In a recent sit down with Interview Magazine, the rapper discussed all things music and her recent transition to motherhood. The Superbass singer is not only an award-winning rap queen, but she is also a mother to 2-year-old son, "Papa Bear." During her interview with Smith, she opened up about how motherhood has completely changed her life and what it's like to be a momma in the hip-hop world. With her most recent single, Super Freaky Girl, Minaj explained she figured out how to be "both" a mom and a rapper after forgetting who she was for a minute. Barbie explained in the end, she "felt true to [herself] on Super Freaky Girl" and was able to tap back into who she was.
Following the summer hit song, fans are ready for more Nicki - and lucky for them, we'll be getting more before the year ends. In the interview, the rapper revealed she is feeling inspired to release a full-length project and will "probably expedite the album to come out this year." Minaj told Smith, "I wasn't sure how I was even feeling about having to put out an album this year, but that song happening and people liking it, that made me happy." She continued, "People have gone through so much recently that they want to have fun." Yes, girl, they do!
