The Weeknd has given us so many collabs over the years, but we might not be hearing his vocals on another artist's track for a while - maybe even forever. The Canadian-Ethiopian singer recently performed what he called the "final feature" of his career.
Tesfaye dropped the bombshell during a show in Warsaw for his After Hours Til Dawn tour, where he told thousands of fans who came to watch him perform what not to expect from his upcoming releases. “This next song I’m about to perform is an unreleased record. I haven’t dropped it yet. It’s called Another One of Me,” Tesfaye revealed to his fans in the crowd. “And I just wanna say that this is gonna be the last feature I ever do, ever in my career. So I wanna perform it for you guys tonight.” Fans still don't know who the other artist on the track will be, nor when the song will be released. But he did share one condition that might make him change his mind...
The Blinding Lights singer took to Twitter to share a clip from his Warsaw performance, captioning it, "the final feature… unless daft punk ever get back together." And seeing how important Daft Punk were to Abel's career, we get it. In a 2021 interview with Variety, The Weeknd mentioned Daft Punk as "one of the reasons [he makes] music." Together, he and the French electronic music duo have collaborated on the Billboard Top 100 No. 1 hit Starboy, as well as I Feel It Coming from Tesfaye's album Starboy, which was released in 2016. But just five years later, and 28 years into their music career, Daft Punk broke up, leaving many fans - including The Weeknd himself - pretty upset. And after hearing that Tesfaye will be quitting features indefinitely, his own fans are pleading with Daft Punk to get back together.

Social media users shared their feelings about the shocking news, with one fan replying to The Weeknd's video, writing, "Nah, you’re so real for this. Daft Punk, please get back together." Another fan shared, "We’re fine with it unless you just keep making music forever. Otherwise, we won’t survive." TBH, we don't blame them at all - imagine a world where The Weeknd didn't exist! So, will Daft Punk give The Weeknd and his fans what they're hoping for? Guess we'll have to wait and find out...
