Every year Coachella is filled with surprises, and this year attendees got a special treat. Euphoria star Zendaya came on stage to perform with Labrinth.
Her surprise performance marks the first time she has sung in seven years. She performed her hit collabs with Labrinth, I’m Tired and All of Us. Even though it was only two songs, the crowd went absolutely wild for the actress. Both songs are featured in the hit HBO series Euphoria, which Zendaya stars in. All of Us won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. The series centers around Zendaya’s character, Rue Bennett, a recovering teenage drug addict trying to find her place in the world and go through high school. The acclaimed drama series has garnered many awards and critical acclaim. Not only were fans happy to see Zendaya up on the stage, but she was also just as happy to be up there.
Per Vibe, in her Instagram stories, the 26-year-old said, “I cannot express my gratitude enough for this magical night. Thank you for my brother Labrinth for inviting me and giving me the most beautiful safe space to be on stage again.” She also had a specific shoutout directed toward the audience. She continued in her Stories, “And to the crowd tonight… wow. My heart is so full. I can’t thank you enough for the love I received tonight, made all my nerves melt away. I’m so grateful. Wish y’all could understand how loud it was last night… my mic picked up every single one of you. So thank you for singing along, it was one of the only ways I knew what I was singing lol.” The last album that Zendaya released was her self-titled debut album in 2013, and her last performance was in 2015.

Coachella is always full of surprises, like how Frank Ocean had to drop out of Weekend Two and was replaced by Blink-182, Skrillex, Four Tet, and Fred Again. Zendaya coming on stage was definitely one of the highlights of the festival. Maybe we’ll be seeing more of Zendaya’s music. Our fingers are crossed.
