Izzy Drake, aka Fake Drake, has challenged the real Drake to a $1 million Celebrity Boxing match, but the Honestly, Nevermind artist didn't seem too interested in the proposition. Instead, Lamar Odom has offered to step in and fight the Fake Drake for the one mil. So let's see what's going down in the ring this time on Celebrity Boxing.
First, a little background on Izzy Drake, the Drake lookalike that has swept the Internet. The copycat artist has recently attracted tons of public attention after people have mistaken him for the Grammy winner, so he decided it was time to test his luck. The Drake impersonator came out strong, asking the real One Dance singer to compete to a friendly Celebrity Boxing match, but of course, there were some terms and conditions attached to the deal. Izzy Drake offered to change his name from Izzy Drake to just Izzy if he wins, but if the OG Drake wins, then he's calling for a million dollars plus signing him to the OVO label. However, Fake Drake was banned from Instagram earlier this month and no word from Aubrey Graham himself.
So now that it's clear that the Canadian rapper will not be fighting his lookalike, Lamar Odom decided he would be the one to take the responsibility. "I hear this news that this fake lookalike wanna fight my man Drake," said Odom in a video. "But my man don't really get his hands dirty, so what I'm gonna step in the way and take that fight. Get the contract, lay you right down." Way to step it up for your boy, Odom!
However, the six-foot-eight former basketball star is no stranger to the boxing ring! Odom has previously taken part in his fair share of Celebrity Boxing matches. The 42-year-old first competed with the former pop star Aaron Carter last summer and took him out in just two rounds. To be fair, Odom is probably twice his size. A few months later, Odom caught Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband, Ojani Noa, in a 3-round exhibition match to which Odom took home the win, so looks like his odds for taking down Izzy Drake are pretty good! The fight is confirmed for October 15 and will take place in either Miami or Atlantic City, so stay tuned!
