She might be a star on the courts, but in only a matter of time, she'll be one on our screens too. Naomi Osaka is set to star in an upcoming Netflix documentary, outlining her whirlwind of a life - and the many matches it calls for. Here's what we know about the future drop.
Titled, Naomi Osaka, the three-part series will show the tennis champ like we've never seen her before. "Whether she’s defending her grand slam titles... mourning the unexpected loss of mentor Kobe Bryant, or finding her independence, the challenges Naomi faces on a personal level begin to align with those in the public sphere," Netflix teased of the upcoming show (below).

In case you forgot, it's been 3 years since Osaka made waves for defeating her childhood idol on the courts - but a whole lot has changed since then. Aside from her legendary U.S. Open match against Serena Williams, the pro-athlete has had more curveballs thrown her way than we even realized. Including, of course, her recent decision to drop out of the French Open.
But above all else? Naomi’s on-screen journey will be "about life’s purpose, about personal worth, about the courage that it takes to allow one’s personal values to inform their work and vice versa." Safe to say, this is one adventure you don't wanna miss out on. Be sure to catch the game-changing series when it drops on Netflix, July 16.
And until then, be sure to stay tuned for all the latest updates.
