Tom Brady has decided to return for his 23rd season playing for the Buccaneers. This comes after the seven-time Superbowl champion announced his retirement nearly 40-days ago. Here's the scoop.

Brady announced the good news on his social media accounts, explaining to his fans and followers what made him change his mind about leaving the game. "These past two months, I've realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,'' he wrote, "That time will come. But it's not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I'm coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa.'' That same day the NFL star shared another video where the soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo asked Brady, "You're finished, right?" And while we couldn't exactly catch what the football athlete responded, the expression on his face might as well have said, "No, Im not done."

While fans found out about Brady's return on March 14th, his teammates on the Buccaneers were already preparing for his comeback a few days prior. The team's general manager, Jason Licht, put out a statement that said, "[Head coach Bruce Arians] and I have had plenty of conversations with Tom recently that led us to believe there was a realistic chance he would want to come back," he said. "Tom is the greatest quarterback of all time who is still playing at an elite level. With this decision now made, we will continue to move forward with our offseason plans to reload this roster for another championship run."

Arians added in the statement that the team is "ecstatic" to have him back, and we can see why. The 44-year-old helped get them to the Superbowl in 2021, where they eventually took home the prize. Brady is no newbie when it comes to winning the highly anticipated NFL football seasons - he himself has 7 of them under his belt. But teammates weren't the only ones who were pleased with the decision. His kids and his supermodel wife, Gisele fully support his return, despite one of the biggest reasons he said goodbye to the field was to spend more time with his family. We can't wait to see Brady back on the field...
