Rihanna wasn't the only one shining during Paris Fashion Week this year - although she still looked absolutely flawless. Her soon-to-be baby daddy, A$AP Rocky, also wore an outfit that drew a whole lotta attention this year. The soon-to-be parents are known for their impeccable style, both on stage and off, so why is this any different, you may ask? The Fashion Killa rocked a leather bomber jacket with the Mercedes-Benz logo, hinting at a possible collab with the German car manufacturer. Let's take a look at what's going on.
Since 2017, A$AP has had a tight relationship with the luxury car brand, so it was no surprise the rapper repped their logo during Paris Fashion Week, but what did it mean? The A$AP Mob member linked up with Mercedes in their "Get a Job" ad back in 2017 and again in 2019 for the Mercedes x AWGE trucker hat- so there's a history there. Now confirmed, Rocky's creative design agency, AWGE, and the glamourous car company are dropping what is sure to be a hot collab. Although not many details have been announced yet, the official AWGE Instagram previewed an orange bomber jacket with dual branding and matching black pants and hoodie. The collection has also promoted a yellow and black checkered accessory with the Mercedes logo in the middle. So now we're wondering what other Mercedes x AWGE pieces will be a part of the drop...
Now that we've covered what we know about the impending drop, let's dive into the mystery that is AWGE. AWGE was started by A$AP Rocky and his A$AP Mob to combine their creative energies into one streamline, but it is definitely not your average creative agency. AWGE has two rules: 1. "Never reveal what AWGE means." 2. "When in doubt, always refer to rule #1". This obviously only increased the hype over the mysterious agency, causing more traction. A$AP explained a little more about the organization in an interview with Trevor Noah in 2018, saying, "We all get together and mastermind how we want to takeover, manipulate, or change the world in music, culture, film art." Sounds dope.
A$AP is an artist, through and through, so there is no doubt this upcoming collab will be anything less than immaculate. However, neither a release date nor full collection has been detailed thus far, so make sure to stay tuned for more.
