It's 2022, and fashion has officially met the metaverse- and it's wild. As the fashion industry welcomes the virtual world, more and more labels have found ways to integrate tech, digital clothing, and avatars into their latest collections while still maintaining their classic styles. Artists and designers everywhere are getting involved, including Breezy himself. Chris Brown and founder and CEO of fashion brand Renowned LA, John Dean, have joined forces to create an NFT streetwear collection, "The Auracles." Here's what we know so far.

Tech has given the fashion industry endless possibilities to expand modern fashion and reimagine classic fashion houses in ways designers never thought possible. High fashion brands such as Prada, Balmain, Cartier, and Louis Vuitton have all welcomed blockchain fashion-tech and have brought these designers to a new height of exclusivity and design. There was even a metaverse fashion week this year! So for Chris Brown, mixing fashion, technology and superheroes just makes sense.

"The Auracles" is an NFT collection featuring a shape-shifting black superhero that "travels through time influencing the world." In collaboration with the NFT project, which stems from the Next Gen Creative Studio, the 32-year-old artist and John Dean have co-designed a streetwear range that links up with the NFT release. The Renowned x Chris Brown pieces can be found on select avatars and redeemed as physical pieces. The project partnered with BlackNFTArt and an online media company aimed to educate creatives and artists about the Web3/crypto universe. BlackNFTArt is a community and media brand empowering Black people in the NFT world through all sorts of resources and platforms.

“We believe that Web3 has the potential to correct a lot of issues that exist in the real world. Web3 & NFTs will allow creatives to actually profit from their creations while still owning their narrative,” Dean said in a press release. “This is an opportunity to level the playing field when it comes to collectibles, entertainment and media. With so much influence, why can’t we be in control of our narratives and create the next big superhero. Why can’t we be the next Murakami, Kaws, or bigger?” Brown and Dean's NFT collaboration is set to drop May 10 - so make sure to stay tuned for more updates.
