Drizzy Drake is dropping his first signature shoe with Nike! After the collab announcement was made, fans have been patiently waiting for the official drop release date - and it's finally here. The Nocta Hot Step Air Terra will be dropping on March 3, and retailers are already releasing info on whether or not their stores will be carrying them. Here's what we know about the drop thus far.
Already sporting his own clothing label, October's Very Own or OVO, which rakes in about $21.2 mil every year, Drake joined the rest of the cool kids with his Nike partnership, confirmed in 2020. The Canadian rapper shot the video for Laugh Now Cry Later on Nike's Campus before Nocta was officially announced. If only we knew then what we know now. The highly anticipated Hot Step shoe will debut in two colors, Triple White and later on in Triple Black, and be available for purchase on Nocta's website, select Nike retailers, SNKRS, OVO, Undefeated, and other retail stores. The retro-inspired shoe sports a chunky look with reflective 3M accents and is priced at $180.
According to Champagne Papi himself, Nocta (a nod to the artist's nocturnal creative process) produces clothing and sneakers inspired by the street style of Toronto, London, and Paris. In Drake's official Nike News announcement, the Toronto-born rapper now designer explains, "NOCTA is about creating something for people on the move. People who want functional, comfortable fits that are adaptable from one environment to the next... But as much as it's about what we make, it's also about a mindset: an unforgiving drive, a relentlessness," Drake continued. Relentless rappers such as DJ Khaled, Lil Yachty, and influencer Zack Bia all took to their Instagram to show off their newly copped Hot Steps, sent by the rapper himself. Khaled showed his enthusiasm for the sleek white shoe on the gram, saying, "Drake, thank you so much, because I've been calling all my connects for these" - and no surprise, he copped 'em.
