Okay, shoe fanatics, this drama is too hot to keep to ourselves. Despite it being a trend to customize shoes for some time now, Nike has officially taken legal action against Drip Creationz. They accused the smaller brand of deconstructing Nike products, adding new material, and reselling at lower prices.

While Nike is sticking to their notion that Drip Creationz has violated trademark and copyright agreements, onlookers to the situation wonder if the large brand is doing more harm to itself than good. "Nike is going to lose a lot of US-based customers if they crack down on this," said one United States customer. "Nobody wants to wear a Nike Air Force 1 that everyone else can have."

While it is true that customizing shoes has been a practice carried out for years, Nike has claimed that the actions taken by Drip Creationz are harmful to the brand at large and must be stopped. Here's what Nike had to say about the matter: "The more unauthorized customizations get manufactured and sold, the harder it becomes for consumers to identify authorized collaborations and authentic products." But, is this fight worth it for the worldwide shoe company?

Despite social media exploding with individual creatives taking their shoe game to the next level thanks to a bottle of paint or glitter, the idea that a company at large is doing this has rubbed Nike the wrong way. Will this issue affect collaborations with the brand in the future?
