The Wu-Tang Clan has been leading the world of streetwear since the '90s. From sneakers to oversized hoodies and sweatpants, they have long been deciding what's cool and setting new in-demand trends. Their recent collaboration project with the shoe brand Crocs is their latest business venture and demonstrates their abilities to infiltrate all categories of fashion. Here's what to know.

"Shaolin style is comin' at ya. Wu-Tang Clan and Crocs are making moves. Get early access exclusively on the app," Crocs announced on Twitter on June 7, alongside a picture of the collection. Including black crocs, yellow crocs, and yellow slides, the shoes all feature Wu-Tang-related logos. The Yellow crocs will be available to buy in kids' sizes and include five "Jibbitz" charms that can be put into the holes of the shoes as accessories.

While Crocs have, too, been making waves since their debut over a decade ago, the shoes have always been more about comfort than style. Wu Tang's choice to collaborate with Crocs could be seen as an unusual one as the shoes have been heavily criticized for their controversial appearance. However, this seems to be the latest go-to move for hip-hop artists nowadays, as Crocs have had multiple fashion collaborations in recent years in an attempt to rebrand its reputation and be seen as a must-have cop. Including Christopher Kane, SZA, Bad Bunny, Post Malone, and even Balenciaga, the Wu-Tang Clan are in good company.

For many, this is viewed as a successful campaign on behalf of the shoe brand, with numerous fashion institutions labeling the shoes as 'cool.' Others, however, are not so convinced, standing strong against the shoes. Are you a Wu-Tang fan, but Crocs are just not your shoes of choice? Instead, you can support them by checking them out on their co-headlining tour with Nas this summer and fall. Tickets for the NY State of Mind Tour are available now.
